    Position Overview

    The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum (MMCM) is seeking an organized, dedicated, and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator who possesses a passion for and commitment to enriching the lives of children and families through play at our museum.

    The Operations Coordinator reports to the President & CEO. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for the bookkeeping, payroll, purchasing, administrative coordination of the operations, and other duties as directed.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Support of the Organization

    • Provides administrative support to including, but not limited to:
         – General bookkeeping and accounting
         – Payroll and associated activities
         – Opening, sorting, and responding, as appropriate, to communications
         – Maintaining files, scheduling, inventory, organizational database
         – Assist in facilitating the operations function within the agency including communications and various administrative tasks as needed
         – Purchasing
         – Fund (grants, donors, sponsors) management

    Other Essential Support:

    • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Physical Demands:

    • Requires sitting for periods of time working with computer, standing, and walking periodically
    • Employee may need to lift or move 10 to 20 pounds during a workday

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Education and/or experience equivalent to position requirements
    • Bookkeeping and accounting skills
    • Proficient in Intuit programs, including QuickBooks
    • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills and detail-oriented
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively and independently within their work area
    • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, database management, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Operations Suite

    • Requires flexibility with some nights and weekends

    This position is offering hourly compensation commensurate with experience average of 25 hours per week. The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum offers flexible scheduling and paid-time off.
